The new Fireguard Plus range brings together many years of tried and tested technology combined with the latest innovations in intumescent material.
Fireguard Plus provides extremely low energy performance at 5W (actual 4.7W). The revised England and Wales building regulations Part L, state that fittings under 5W are exempt from the overall count.
The key to Fireguard Plus is a unique patented thermo plastic intumescent plug which reacts strongly to high temperatures and expands up to eighty times without constraint. When subjected to high temperatures (428°F /220°C and above) the material swells to a solid, dense mass, sealing the back of the can to prevent heat and flames from passing into the ceiling void.
